  • Why it’s special: One of Hawaiʻi’s oldest temples (ca. 480 AD), dedicated to Ku the war god; a place of immense mana and royal ancestry. You can feel the weight of prayer in the stone.

  • Notes: Reach via a rough 1-mile dirt road (passable SUV only); enter quietly and do not climb on walls.
